Can you put raw bacon in an air fryer?

Yes, you can cook raw bacon in the air fryer. It’s perfect because you don’t need to deal with the usual bacon splatters and cleaning that comes from pan frying.

Simply lay the bacon strips in the air fryer basket and cook at 400F for 8 to 10 minutes, depending on the thickness of the bacon. Once it’s cooked, we recommend laying it on paper towels to soak up excess fat.

In this recipe however, we’re going to be making the bacon on a pan on the stove while using the air fryer to make the potatoes.

Are fried potatoes in an air fryer healthy?

When cooked in the air fryer, potatoes can be healthier than traditional fried potatoes.

Since the air fryer doesn’t require any added oils, you’re eliminating unnecessary calories. By cooking in the air fryer, you’re also reducing added salt and preservatives that come with store-bought frozen fries.

What are potato rounds?

Potato rounds are thinly sliced potatoes that are perfect for making in the air fryer.

They have a larger surface area, which allows them to get crispy all around. To make perfect potato rounds, we recommend using a mandoline slicer that creates uniform slices.

What toppings should I use?

The toppings you use are limited by your creativity! In our recipe, we’ll be using bacon, cheese and chives, but you can swap it out for your favorites.

Other toppings that work well with seasoned potato rounds include sour cream, chopped scallions, guacamole, and salsa. Make it your own!
